Dhokare Bari, NEPAL 2018

In October 2018 we will be returning to Nepal for our 3rd visit to the Nuwakot District. Our previous projects in Kabilash-2016 and Aapchour-2017 exceeded our expectations. The people of Kabilash have expanded the water system we helped put in place and it now services over 600 people. They constructed a 2nd water tank in the lower village and they built a new water tank at the school which was dedicated in memory of Barbara Brown. The people of Aapchour, completed the original project, providing water to 1,000 people. They replaced the original submersible pump, donated by Franklin Electric, with a larger 1.5hp pump and then gifted the 3/4hp pump to the people of Dhokare Bari. When we arrive in Nepal we will visit all three project areas and inspect the water systems. We will then help the people of Dhokare Bari complete construction of their water system including a pump, pipe and a water storage tank. Then we will help the people of Aapchour repair a solar array and build a water tank which will provide a 2nd drinking water system to service the people in the upper part of the village.

Join us on our next trip to Nepal. We are exploring the possibility of inviting up to 10 travelers to Nepal with our water project team for two weeks. Travelers would travel with our team to Nepal, stay in the same hotel and spend one day visiting the project site. The other days would be spent under the care of our trusted partners in Nepal who operate a tour company and transportation company. Travelers would have an opportunity to experience Nepal, escorted by local guides, exploring 4th century Buddhist temples, Thamel market, and UNESCO world heritage sites in and around Kathmandu valley. Estimated cost per travel all inclusive is: $3,500 (round trip airfare from Ft Lauderdale to Nepal, travel visas, hotel, breakfast daily, ground transportation, daily excursions and fees), this also includes a $250 donation towards the Nepal water project.
