DRINKING WATER DATA

MAPS

We collect and publish geographic data from our projects and we assemble geographic data from other sources. Our maps are freely available showing location of our projects, details information about the communities we help and features that impact the water resources in the region. Contribute to our WORLD WIDE WELL (WWwells)project by photographing a public drinking well and uploading it to our database.

WATER SYSTEMS

We gather and distribute information about a wide variety of water collection systems, water delivery systems, water filter systems and water purification systems. Select a design based on the local conditions and available resources. We will gladly provide additional information on systems we have installed and help recommend a system for your project.

WATER QUALITY DATA

We collect and publish data from public drinking water sources. We sample water from our projects and we make an effort to test water where we travel. We offer the test results to the local community and promote stewardship of the water supply through education and awareness.

RAINFALL & CLIMATE DATA

Climate date impacts the drinking water supply so we incorporate climate data collection into our projects. We have partnered with BLOOMSKY, installing weather stations at our project sites.

DEMOGRAPHIC DATA

We work closely with communities that are far off the beaten path and often receive no services from their local governments - no roads, no running water and limited electrical service. To help raise awareness of the community and local conditions we collect and publish demographic data including: age, income, occupation, ethnicity, education, spoken and written language, family units, and general standard of living.

WATER CONSUMPTION DATA

As part of our pre-project analysis we collect data on water consumption. We document the volume of the pre- project water source, daily consumption rate per person and method of delivery. We often see communities where people hand carry water in buckets fetched from rivers. The average daily water consumption is often as low as 1 liter per day where the recommended daily water intake by the World Health Organization per person is 4 liters per day. It is important to know how many people are being served by a water system to understand how effectiveness of the system.
